Peter P. Bihuniak
Vice President, Finance & CFO
As Vice President & CFO, Peter P. Bihuniak is responsible for the oversight
of Finance, Budget & Reimbursement, Materials Management, Managed
Care, Patient Accounting, Patient Access, Medical Records and Information
Systems. He has served in this capacity since April 2002.
Prior to his appointment to Vice President he served as Director of Finance
for five years with direct responsibilities for General Accounting, Payroll
and Budget & Reimbursement. In this position, Mr. Bihuniak implemented
several initiatives to control the Hospital’s costs including a
volume adjusted budgeting process. He was a key member of the team that
reviewed the Hospital’s operation and resulting in the reorganization
that eliminated under-utilized services such as OB and Pediatrics.
Mr. Bihuniak has served on the Board of the Raritan Valley Collection Agency
for three years and served as chairman of that Board for one year. Prior
to his employment with RWJ Rahway, he was employed for 18 years by the
Franciscan Health System of NJ (FHSNJ) which operated a two-hospital system
in Hudson County. Mr. Bihuniak held various positions at FHSNJ, including
Director of Accounting/ Budget & Reimbursement and Director of Patient
Accounting. Mr. Bihuniak received his BS in Accounting from St. Peter’s College.
