Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway offers cancer care from screening and diagnosis through treatment and survivorship, bringing world-class cancer care close to home. Our multidisciplinary team of nationally-recognized oncologists, nurses and oncology support professionals provide individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
In partnership with the Rutgers Cancer Institute, the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, RWJUH Rahway and RWJBarnabas Health provide patients access to the most advanced treatment options, including surgical procedures, radiation therapy techniques, clinical trials, infusion therapy, immunotherapy and precision medicine.

What does NCI-designation mean?
NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers provide the depth and breadth of cancer research and patient care that is necessary to treat simple, complex and rate forms of cancer. Through our partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute, patients have access to clinical trials not available elsewhere.
The prestigious Comprehensive Cancer Center NCI designation, held by only an elite group of such centers across the nation, is granted competitively to institutions characterized by the highest level of scientific excellence in cancer research and the ability to translate scientific discoveries into novel treatments. NCI Comprehensive Cancer Centers also have a responsibility to educate the public and health care professionals and provide outreach to underserved populations.
Telemedicine
As an option, providers at our facilities are available for telemedicine consults for both existing and new patients. It is an effective and convenient way for patients to connect with our expert oncology team from the convenience of home.
