Vascular Surgery Services

Our board-certified vascular surgeons provides outstanding care to patients with vascular disease. Among the most highly trained vascular specialists in the country, our surgeons perform over 1,000 vascular surgical procedures annually. They are highly skilled in vascular medicine, traditional open surgical procedures, and minimally invasive endovascular surgery, and provide expert comprehensive care for a broad array of vascular disease processes.

Minimally Invasive Endovascular Treatment

Minimally-invasive treatment of vascular disease has revolutionized the practice of vascular surgery. Specifically, endovascular surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) has grown tremendously over the past five years. Our state-of-the-art endovascular surgical program offers procedures for arterial diseases, aneurysms, venous disease and deep venous thrombosis, and dialysis access.

RWJUH is home to a new state-of-the-art endovascular imaging suite in the operating room, fully equipped with a ceiling-mounted single-plane Philips Imager. This new technology provides comprehensive and efficient vascular imaging and treatment of even the most complex vascular diseases in a single location.

Our Vascular Center of Excellence provides endovascular treatment options for the most basic and most complicated vascular issues.

Endovascular procedures are now routinely performed for thoracic and abdominal aneurysms, peripheral aneurysms such as popliteal aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease, arterial-venous malformations, venous disease and varicose veins, dialysis access procedures, and a variety of other less common vascular disorders.

RWJUH continues to lead the field in providing new treatment to patients. As a result of our shift to minimally invasive procedures, we are now able to provide safer treatment options and better outcomes to patients. In fact, many patients who in the past would have been turned down for vascular procedures due to increased risk can now receive treatment with minimal risk, a shorter hospital stay, and a faster recovery.
