Customized Treatment Plans for Esophageal Disorders

Esophageal diseases span a broad spectrum of benign and malignant conditions; therefore treatment options vary depending on the type and severity of the condition. At the Esophageal Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH), our multidisciplinary team creates a customized treatment plan for each individual patient.

Many options are available for esophageal disorders, including medication, nonsurgical endoscopic treatments and surgery. The recommended treatment will depend on a number of factors, such as age, lifestyle, medical history, etc. After an extensive diagnostic evaluation of esophageal function, the RWJUH team will work with each patient to develop an appropriate treatment plan designed to achieve the best possible outcomes for his or her lifestyle.
