Schroth Method of Physical Therapy for Scoliosis

Schroth Method

The Schroth Method of Physical Therapy is a specialized and effective approach to the management of scoliosis. Developed by Katharina Schroth in the 1920s, this method focuses on posture and breathing exercises tailored to each patient's unique spinal curvature.

As a non-invasive, exercise-based treatment for scoliosis, Schroth therapy aims to stabilize and improve the curvature of the spine. It emphasizes postural correction and muscular symmetry through a series of customized exercises. Benefits may include:

  • reduction of pain and discomfort associated with scoliosis
  • improvement of posture and appearance
  • prevention of further progression of the spinal curve
  • enhancement of overall quality of life

Our experienced therapists are trained in Schroth Method and work closely with your referring physician. Together, they will develop a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan designed to help you live a healthier, more active and independent life.

Scroth Therapy is offered at the RWJBarnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center, 200 South Orange Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039. To make an appointment, please call 973-322-7500. A prescription that specifies Scroth Therapy is required.
