Campaign to Transform Community Medical Center
Community Medical Center (CMC) is embarking on the most transformative campaign in CMC’s history. It includes significant renovations of the Emergency Department and other units and enhancements of Outpatient Services. Most exciting, we have become a teaching hospital, bringing Graduate Medical Education to CMC.

The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation made a $5 million gift to Community Medical Center, the largest individual gift in the hospital's history, to help support the Emergency Department's renovation.
Outpatient Hubs
CMC is expanding to make services even more convenient for our patients. CMC's Lab and Women's Imaging Center and Ocean Women's Health Care Group, PA, can now be found at Barnegat 67, offering state-of-the-art care in one convenient location. Another hub under construction is a three story medical building on Route 37 with Children's Specialized Hospital and RWJ Barnabas Health Medical Group. Having Outpatient Hubs close to home will enhance Ocean County resident’s quality of care.
Investing in the Community
“Becoming a teaching hospital takes CMC to a new level,” says Jay Grunin. “It makes Ocean County a more desirable place to call home.” Read more about the first transformational gift to this important campaign here. More leadership gift announcements coming soon.
CMC Welcomes New Medical Residents
The Future Takes Flight at CMC
CMC celebrated the completion of a new rooftop helipad with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 11, 2021. For patients who require a higher level of care, the new helipad will speed up their transport. Previously, patients would need to be transferred via an ambulance to meet the helicopter crew in the park across the street, a process that could take 30 minutes. Patients are now one elevator ride away from their flight.
As we look back on 60 years of caring for our community, we have so much to celebrate!
Fundraising for the mission of Community Medical Center is more important than ever.
A multi-million dollar Emergency Department renovation currently underway, and the addition of a rooftop helipad, a medical residency program, and hub locations throughout the region are all part of Community Medical Center’s plans to continue to grow and diversify with the population we serve.
