First Annual Sports Medicine Symposium: Know Your Athletes
The First Annual Sports Medicine Symposium, titled Lower Extremity Injuries in the Competitive Athlete is sponsored by RWJBarnabas Health, Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center for Athletes and JAG-One Physical Therapy. Keynote speaker, Bryce Salvador and supportive physician panel touch on topics with key messaging to the audience on crucial management strategies for treating lower extremity injuries. Salvador hits on important messaging to the community on the importance of understanding your athletes physically and mentally and being supportive. Dr. Jack Kripsak, and Dr. Steve Weintraub both board-certified in family medicine and trained in sports medicine touched on topics such as varying common sports fractures and preventative methods, while Dr. Jason Krystofiak, sports medicine fellowship-trained and board-certified in primary care/sports medicine, debriefs the audience on methods for diagnosing Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome.
