Improving Community Health
As New Jersey’s largest health care network, we are committed to community wellness. Our facilities feature a variety of health screenings and education programs throughout the year to community residents and employees.
Based upon the needs of the community, we provide a variety of health seminars to educate the public community about healthy lifestyles and choices to promote wellness and prevention. These seminars are offered on various days and weekends and at various times, both morning and evening.
We offer community education, programs, seminars and screenings for the following:
- Hearing (audiology)
- Blood pressure
- Blood screenings
- Breast cancer
- Cardiac risk
- Cervical cancer (PAP smear)
- Foot disorders
- Oral cancer
- Prostate cancer
- Skin cancer
- Vision
We seek to increase access to cancer and chronic disease screenings to increase awareness of the benefits that come with early detection for certain types of ailments. Additional programs such as pneumonia vaccinations and education programs for seniors and a smoking prevention program for primary schools are held in collaboration with local health departments and other community agencies.
In regard to behavioral health, our objectives include increasing education and awareness of behavioral health symptoms and resources in the community. We are constantly working to strengthen the partnerships with community stakeholders for mental health treatment and referrals.
Finally, presentations on various other health topics are available to community groups, organizations, and clubs through our Speaker's Bureau.
