Re-entry Applicants

Thank you for your interest in returning to Trinitas School of Nursing. For students looking to apply for re-entry, please see below for eligibility requirements:

Important New Requirement for TSON Students

  • As of Fall 2024, all current TSON students are required to have a laptop computer with minimum systems requirements so you can:
    • Take all (required) exams and quizzes via “Exam Software”
    • access all course material from anywhere.
    • submit clinical and class assignments.

Laptops are available in the Union College bookstore in all campuses.

  • If you are eligible for financial aid, check if the laptop is included in your financial aid package. The link for more information is: https://www.ucc.edu/techfee/
  • If you carry less than 12 credits (full time status), you can apply for a laptop loaner. The link for more information is: https://www.ucc.edu/laptoploaner/

If you already own a laptop, it must meet the following specifications:

Minimum System Requirements:
Operating system: Windows or MacOS
Processor: Intel i5 or better (non- ARM processor)
Ram: 8GB
Storage: 128 GB or higher

Eligibility Requirements to Apply for Re-entry to TSON:

  • A minimum Union College GPA of 2.5 is required.
  • There is no guarantee of a seat for any re-entry applicant.
  • Students with more than two NURE course withdrawals are not eligible for re-entry consideration.
  • Students with two NURE course failures are not eligible for re-entry consideration. The following exceptions apply.
    • Students with two NURE course failures who are applying to return to the last course in the Generic or LPN-RN track may apply for Re-admission. The re-admission policy can be found in the Trinitas School of Nursing Handbook.
  • For Generic students
    • Not enrolled in a NURE course for 3 consecutive semesters will need to apply for entrance to TSON and follow curriculum sequence.
  • For LPN-RN students
    • Not enrolled in a NURE course for more than one year will need to apply for entrance to TSON and follow curriculum sequence.

How to Apply for Re-entry

  • Click on the link below for the re-entry application.
  • Complete re-entry application and submit with your current UCNJ transcript to trinitas@ucc.edu through your UCNJ OWL email address.
  • Re-entry applications are only accepted by email.
  • Once your application is evaluated, you will receive a confirmation email.
  • Applications must be submitted by deadlines listed below.

    Re-entry Decision Information

    • Re-entry decisions are made once regular registration is complete. Re-entry seats are normally offered within 1 week of regular course registration date.
    • Decision emails will be sent directly to your OWL email address.

    Upon acceptance

    • All applicants accepted for re-entry MUST accept their seat by date listed on acceptance email.
    • All applicants accepted MUST follow Clinical Requirements for Re-entry. Please click on link below for requirements.
