Types of Nonsurgical Spinal Treatments We Offer
Back and neck pain will often go away on its own, but you can speed up recovery with noninvasive spinal treatments. Our team only prescribes the latest, most effective pain and anti-inflammatory medications approved by the FDA. Patients with chronic back pain may need to undergo rehabilitation in order to recover.
Our spinal treatments include:
- Physical and occupational therapy. Personalized rehab programs where you work one-on-one with a therapist to learn new exercises and lifestyle habits designed to mitigate pain and regain mobility.
- Trigger point injections. An injection of anti-inflammatory medication applied directly to diseased joint tissue.
- Heat and cold therapy. Application of heat or ice can help relieve back pain. Heat therapy stimulates blood flow and helps muscles relax while cold therapy decreases blood flow to reduce inflammation.
- Therapeutic massage. Massages stimulate blood flow and loosen up stiff muscles. Regular massage therapy appointments can keep back pain under control.
- Pain medication. When taken exactly as prescribed, medication can be a valuable source of short-term pain relief. There is a small risk a patient could develop an addiction to painkillers, but a doctor’s prescribed medication regimen is carefully planned so that patients do not develop a physical dependency.
- Radiation therapy for osteoarthritis. Low dose radiation therapy (LDRT) can reduce inflammation, improve joint mobility and provide moderate to long-term pain relief.
- Spinal traction. This therapy relieves spinal pressure. During this treatment, the spine is stretched by a physical therapist or spinal traction device. By manipulating the spine, a physical therapist is able to relieve pressure on damaged spinal joints.
