Treatment of Liver Diseases and Liver Masses
Hepatologists are specialists who treat liver disease. At our two facilities, The Liver Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) and The Center for Liver Diseases and Liver Masses at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, our board-certified hepatologists work alongside a multidisciplinary team of physicians who are highly knowledgeable about the wide range of acute and chronic liver diseases. Following your initial appointment, your multidisciplinary team of liver disease specialists will review all test results and develop a treatment plan. While some liver diseases can be treated with lifestyle modifications and continual monitoring of liver function, other liver problems may need more extensive treatment, including medical and/or surgical therapies.
Some of the treatment options we offer include:
- Minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery
- Outpatient radiology services
- Weight loss and/or nutrition counseling
- Medical oncology services
- Perinatal services for women with liver disease
- Clinical research and trials
- Liver transplant
By offering advanced, effective liver disease therapies through a multi-specialty treatment team, our comprehensive program aims to improve our patients’ quality of life.
You will be provided with a patient navigator to collaborate with your clinical team, facilitate appointments, and coordinate care.
