Volunteers apply their individual expertise and passion for giving back in many ways. Our numerous programs include working with patients, visitors and staff. Our team will match your skill sets to an appropriate opening throughout our medical center.

Adult Volunteer Service Requirements:

  • Age: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age
  • Volunteer Profile Form: Online submission including two personal references: Somerset
  • Personal Interview: Meet with the director of Volunteer Services
  • Time Commitment: Volunteers are expected to serve a minimum of three hours per week for a period of not less than six to nine months (minimum 100 hours)
  • Criminal background check: Including Social Security number verification
  • Volunteer Orientation: This includes important safety and regulatory information necessary for all volunteers.
  • Medical clearance
    • Medical Attestation Form and Clearance: to be completed by applicant’s physician – includes all current medical requirements to ensure up to date immunization status, including the flu vaccine
  • Dress Code: Volunteer uniform (polo shirt or jacket)) along with business attire.

After we receive your completed form and your references have been contacted, we will contact you for an interview. During the interview, we will ask some preliminary questions about your interests and availability. We listen carefully to prospective volunteers' interests and goals and make every effort to place them in positions that will be interesting and satisfying while meeting the needs of the hospital.
