Graduation Requirements

Pharmacy Residency Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset

  • Complete all learning experiences
  • Required educational goals and objectives are assessed as “Achieved for residency” for 85% of objectives
  • Complete one IRB approved residency project and written manuscript in publishable form
  • Complete 1 medication use evaluation
  • Complete a formulary drug monograph, class review, or treatment protocol
  • Provide at a minimum 2 patient case presentations and 2 journal club presentations
  • Conduct 4 community service presentations/activities
  • Prepare and present one Medical Grand Rounds to the Medical Staff
  • Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Medication Management/Medication Safety Committee meetings
  • Present a poster at the ASHP Midyear Clinical meeting and a platform presentation of their residency project at Eastern States Conference for Residents and Preceptors
  • Fulfill pharmacy staffing requirement of 15 weekends for the year and one holiday.
  • Complete all teaching activities as required by the Rutgers University, EMSOP Teaching Certificate Program
  • Complete an exit interview with the Residency Program Director and Residency Coordinator. This interview shall include discussion of the written reflection of the resident of the past year to include areas of strength or continued improvement identified for the resident as well as strengths and areas of improvement for the program.
