Level 1 Trauma Center

As one of only three Level I and one of two pediatric trauma centers in New Jersey, RWJUH regularly cares for the state’s most seriously injured and critically ill patients. Many of these cases involve orthopedic trauma, or serious injuries to bones, joints and soft tissues such as muscles, tendons and ligaments. Under the guidance of fellowship trained surgeons, RWJUH is the major orthopedic surgery and referral center for local hospitals and orthopedic practices in central New Jersey. State-of-the-Art Facility

Our orthopedic care facility offers some of the latest, cutting-edge treatments aimed at restoring patients' mobility and quality of life. The state-of-the-art unit, renovated in 2018, is devoted specifically to patients recovering from various orthopedic procedures and conditions.

There are now 16 patient- and family-friendly rooms designed to enhance the comfort of recovering patients, with private bathrooms and flat-screen TVs. The facility also includes a private rehabilitation area for physical and occupational therapy.
