Corporate Care’s occupational health services help injured and sick employees return to work in good health and on time. We provide attentive and appropriate medical services and treatment for on-the-job injuries, delivered under the direction of board-certified occupational medicine specialists.

What Is Workers’ Compensation Care?
Also known as workman’s compensation care, workers' compensation care refers to medical and related services provided to employees who suffer work-related injuries or illnesses. It encompasses a wide range of occupational health services to diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate injured workers to ensure they recover and return to work as soon as possible.
Prompt Evaluation and Treatment
Time is of the essence in NJ workers' compensation cases. At RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Care, we understand the importance of timely intervention. Our evaluation begins when an injured employee visits any of our Corporate Care locations.
Our physicians review past medical history and current needs and determine the origin of the injury through careful evaluation and medical assessment. We ensure that each patient receives prompt medical attention, including diagnostic testing if required, rehabilitation, and necessary follow-up care with specialists to facilitate recovery and appropriate return to work.
Our Corporate Care services offer a seamless integration with RWJBarnabas Health's Emergency Department. In the case of an after-hours injury or accident, RWJBarnabas Health offers access to our Emergency Department clinical service.
Sending an Employee to RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Care
With RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Care, sick or injured employees can access necessary medical services at any of our occupational health facilities during normal business hours or at any of RWJBarnabas Health’s nationally distinguished hospitals and their emergency departments 24/7.
All Corporate Care occupational health services are integrated with RWJBarnabas Health emergency services at every hospital location. Employees who visit an emergency department will experience a seamless transition of care and follow-up at a Corporate Care facility the following business day, as appropriate.
Employees should contact us to request an appointment and we will direct the employee to the closest RWJBarnabas Health facility. Employees should bring a completed Employer Authorization Form at the time of their visit to initiate care.
Restrictive Duty: Work During Recovery
Keeping your employees engaged and active during recovery benefits your business and workforce. That's why we offer restrictive duty recommendations, which allow your employees to perform modified tasks or responsibilities that align with their medical conditions and capabilities. This approach not only aids in their rehabilitation but also helps you retain their valuable skills and knowledge, ultimately reducing the costs associated with lost productivity and workers' compensation claims.
Defining Restrictive Duty
Each employee’s recovery process is unique, and each company has various roles and duties that may match an employee’s needs during this transitional period. RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Care will provide restrictive duty recommendations to help employers design appropriate assignments. These recommendations will indicate safe activity levels to help human resources or managers determine the roles and duties each employee can safely perform during recovery.
Work-Readiness/Fit for Duty
We also take a comprehensive approach to ensure your employees are ready to resume their full duties safely. Our physicians conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess their work readiness, modify job tasks or responsibilities as needed, and recommend rehabilitation or specialty care when necessary. This collaborative approach helps you maintain a productive and healthy workforce while minimizing the risks of re-injury or prolonged absences.
Our physicians assess employee medical needs, design and manage treatment plans, administer care, and monitor and evaluate treatment progress to ensure workers return to work as soon as possible. Under the direction of our occupational medicine specialists, thorough care is guaranteed. This includes:
- Recommending rehabilitation or specialty care as needed
- Assessing employee readiness to resume usual duties
- Modifying job tasks or responsibilities to ensure worker safety
- Working with employers to create light- to medium-duty work alternatives
We take a responsive and proactive approach to caring for your employees and getting them back to work. This helps our Corporate Care clients maintain productivity and reduce workers' compensation costs.
