How to Become an Adult Volunteer

Volunteers apply their individual expertise and passion for giving back in many ways. Our numerous programs include working with patients, visitors, and staff. Our team will match your skill set to an appropriate opening throughout our hospital.

Adult Volunteer Service Requirements

  • Age: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age
  • Volunteer Interest Form: Please complete our Volunteer Interest Form by clicking on this link:

  • Initial Informational Phone Call: Interest adults will be called by the Volunteer Resource Office for brief interview to discuss interests, skills and availability
  • Completed Application (sent after successful interview)
    • References
    • Background Check
    • Health Attestation Form: To be completed by physician
    • Tuberculosis Screening: Two skin tests or one blood test (details will be on the medical attestation forms)
    • Influenza vaccine
    • COVID-19 full vaccination, including booster dose
  • Completion of an Online Orientation Program: this includes important safety and regulatory information necessary for all volunteers. An in person meeting with the Volunteer Resource Department to review paperwork, arrange schedule and answer questions follows completion of this step
  • Time Commitment: Volunteers are expected to serve a minimum of three hours per week and overall for one year or more
  • Dress Code: Volunteer uniform and security ID badge provided by the Medical Center, along with business attire (no jeans/denim, shorts, or casual clothes)
