Pulmonary Therapy & Rehabilitation
Skilled Professionals Here When You Need It Most
Lung disorders can make it difficult to breathe, cause chronic coughing and cause persistent stress and anxiety. While there is no cure for lung disease, the symptoms can be treated. In our Pulmonary Rehabilitation program, patients and certified pulmonary rehab therapists work to slow down and minimize the debilitating symptoms of lung disease through a combination of exercise, education, breathing retraining and nutritional counseling.
You may benefit from pulmonary therapy if you have been diagnosed with:
- Asthma
- Asthmatic Bronchitis
- Bronchiectasis
- Chronic Bronchitis
- COPD
- Emphysema
- Kyphoscoliosis
- Long COVID
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Sarcoidosis
- Post lung surgery
Pulmonary therapy/rehabilitation may also be recommended for patients who have undergone or are in need of a lung transplant to help them adjust to the transition and keep the transplant in good condition.
Breathe Easier, Live Better
Lung disease is a chronic condition that requires continuous care. One of the goals of pulmonary rehabilitation is to teach patients various methods of controlling their condition and living healthier so that they can reduce their dependency on professional medical attention.
In pulmonary rehabilitation, we strive to help patients:
- Reduce shortness of breath and the anxiety it brings
- Increase exercise tolerance and ability to perform normal daily activities
- Increase understanding of particular lung disorders
- Teach the proper use of respiratory medications and breathing techniques
- Reduce the possibility of hospitalizations
These goals are achieved through carefully structured exercise routines. Rehabilitation is customized based on the unique needs of the patient. You can expect to work one-on-one with your pulmonary therapist as they learn more about you and your long-term goals.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is a collaborative effort. Simply put, we cannot provide the high quality care you deserve without making ourselves available to you. Our motto is “let’s be healthy together.”
