The Chinese Medical Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Hamilton aims to enhance access to effective, cost-efficient, high-quality health care for Chinese Americans in New Jersey.
At RWJUH Hamilton, our goal is to ensure that all patients receive the
care and services they need, with easy access to high-quality inpatient
and outpatient services, free screenings, community education and low-cost
preventive programs. Through our Chinese Medical Program, our patient
navigator assists Chinese patients on an individual basis to help overcome
any cultural or language barriers.
Chinese Medical Services Program
The Chinese Medical Program offers:
- A highly competent, Chinese-speaking patient navigator who understands the language and culture of Chinese-speaking patients, and who helps them access the health and medical care services they need.
- One-stop help assessing their needs, making appointments, arranging round-trip transportation, assisting with patient forms, and even providing accompaniment to treatments and interpretation, if needed.
- Communication support – the navigator will keep in touch with each patient's referring physician to keep the doctor apprised of medical and treatment updates, enhancing the continuum of care.
- Physician liaison services to help coordinate in-hospital care and provide translation/interpretation services and support.
- Timely referrals and appointments for doctors and specialists, outpatient services and additional testing and treatments that patients might need.
- Personalized case management services that help to take the stress and anxiety out of managing medical care, so patients can concentrate on achieving and maintaining good health.
