Providing a well-coordinated, expert approach to the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, patient care is coordinated by a breast health navigator who is a certified oncology nurse and a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team of fellowship-trained physicians, including a breast surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and pathologist. The program includes:

RWJ and Rutgers Team Up for Cancer Care
The cancer center at RWJ Hamilton integrates a medical practice staffed by regarded oncology specialists from Rutgers Cancer Institute, with outpatient treatment and support services. Built beyond the walls of the hospital to provide added convenience and comfort to our patients, the center is a modern 18,500 square-foot building housing all of the services needed to care for someone with cancer.
Nationally Recognized Breast Program
RWJ Hamilton's breast program has been granted a three-year full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), administered by the American College of Surgeons. Centers accredited by the NAPBC undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
High Risk Breast Clinic
The Cancer Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton offers
a comprehensive program for patients who are at increased risk for developing
breast cancer.
We offer a variety of services for the prevention and early detection of
breast cancer in high-risk patients, including:
- Hereditary cancer risk assessment
- Clinical breast exam
- Increase screening such as diagnostic mammograms or MRI examinations.
- Referrals to specialists and genetic testing services
- Breast cancer chemoprevention
The High Risk Breast Clinic offers women at high-risk for breast cancer a way to proactively monitor and manage their health with world-class cancer specialists, close to home.
