“I had a kidney transplant at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center on July 23, 2024, with my wife Nancy as the donor. I can't say enough about the care that I received from the surgical team, transplant team, the nurses, the aides, to the people from food services. Just top notch! To Dr. Harry Sun who performed the transplant, you have hands of gold.
My biggest shout out is to Anne Ellis-Kosty, BSN, RN, CCTC, Living Donor Recipient Coordinator, who was my nurse contact from the beginning in pre-transplant until my surgery. She was there every step of the way and did everything to keep me in the perfect mind space leading up to the operation. I can't say enough about her.
It has been 1 month since I received my new kidney and I have been given the best post-transplant care you can get. All I can say is if you need a transplant and you don't go to the Renal and Pancreas Transplant Division at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, you are making a mistake. They are the best in the business when it comes to transplants in my humble opinion. Especially if you live anywhere on the East Coast.
