Mother, Advocate, 11-Year Breast Cancer Survivor
It has been 11 years since Maureen Karsen was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Since then, her family has grown. When she began treatment, her children were 14, 12 and 9 and her goal was to see her oldest graduate high school. Read more about Kristine’s breast cancer journey.
Since then, she has seen all three graduate high school, two graduate college and she plans on being at her youngest’s college graduation in two years! Her daughter was so inspired by the care Maureen received at CBMC that she became a nurse. Maureen is looking forward to her next goal -- celebrating her daughter’s wedding in September 2024 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
