The Hematopathology service at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center utilizes state-of-the-art technology to evaluate a broad range of tumor and non-tumor conditions involving the blood and blood-forming organs. The team consists of subspecialty pathologists who hold board certifications in hematologic pathology and molecular genetic pathology, and experienced technologists certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology. We provide comprehensive diagnostic services to in-house patients, as well as to a network of hospitals and physician offices seeking hematopathology consultation. Cases diagnosed as lymphoma, leukemia and myeloma are reviewed in the daily pathology quality assurance conference, and discussed in multi-disciplinary tumor board and subspecialty conferences. Fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists and American Association of Blood Banks, the laboratory is committed to promoting best practice standards in every stage of patient testing.
