About Monmouth Medical Center
A teaching hospital affiliated with RWJBarnabas Health - the state's largest health care system - Monmouth Medical Center is located one block from the ocean in Long Branch in Monmouth County.
Monmouth Medical Center’s team of Pet Therapy Dogs.
By maintaining a leadership role in the delivery of high-quality health care, Monmouth provides a full spectrum of services, earning national, state and regional recognition for many of its programs.
Providing Valuable Support throughout MMC
Every day, the corps of adult and junior volunteers at Monmouth Medical Center make important contributions to patient care and the operation of the hospital. It would take nearly 20 full-time employees to provide the approximately 35,000 hours of service donated each year by Monmouth Medical Center volunteers.
Ambassadors for the medical center, volunteers are an important part of patient satisfaction efforts as they provide support throughout the organization.
How to Become a Volunteer
Junior Volunteers
The first step in becoming a volunteer is completing the application form in this download. After your application is completed, please contact the Volunteer Office for an interview. During the interview, volunteer applicants discuss their skills, interests and the times they are available. Upon acceptance into the program, volunteers attend an orientation to introduce them to the hospital, its staff and fellow volunteers, and are matched with a role that suits their schedule and interests.
Junior volunteers are accepted beginning at age 14 and usually contribute weekdays after school, on weekends or during school recesses.
