Imaging Technologies at Monmouth
Monmouth Medical Center has taken diagnostic imaging to new levels of precision, quality and speed. Monmouth's advanced imaging systems include:

While both systems are reshaping the way a full range of medical conditions are detected and treated, each utilizes different radiological principles to produce images that are unmatched in quality — improving their diagnostic capabilities.
Monmouth Medical Center’s magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) capabilities have been transformed by the Signa HDxT High Definition MR upgrade. The Signa HDxT MRI scanner uses unique High Definition (HD) technology, continuing a trend of significant advances in MR imaging. HD technology enables the on-board computing system to reconstruct images very rapidly, resulting in near real-time image generation. The Signa HDx is designed for advanced imaging for studies ranging from routine to extremely challenging. The system produces consistent image quality across all applications. By significantly improving the quality and speed of an MRI study, the Signa HDxT scanner delivers more detailed information about the patient’s condition while making the experience patient-friendly. Additionally, clearer, faster scans that reduce the effects of motion and meets imaging challenges presented by elderly patients with tremor disease; young patients that fail sedation; diabetic patients with peripheral vascular disease; female patients with multi-focal disease; patients with liver disease; and cardiac inpatients who can’t hold their breath.
The Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS) has been deployed throughout Monmouth Medical Center. Through the implementation of PACS, images are available electronically almost immediately on most PCs throughout the hospital, on CDs that can be taken outside the hospital and even over the Internet (in certain circumstances). This availability will improve the report turnaround time, increase the overall availability of the images, decrease the need for repeat studies and increase both patient and physician satisfaction. Physicians also have access to studies via a secure Internet connection from their office or home.
