Nonsurgical Solutions and Vascular Surgery Treatment Options

Treatments for vascular disease may require medical management, endovascular (interventional) treatments, surgical procedures and preventative care strategies. Often treatments will involve more than one approach, including medical management, hybrid interventional/surgical care, physical therapy and exercise. This philosophy is the backbone of multidisciplinary comprehensive care.

Other treatment options include:

  • Aneurysm repairs. Performed either surgically or by using special catheters and stent grafts.
  • Endarterectomy. Open surgical procedure that removes plaque from the artery.
  • Angioplasty. A mechanical widening of narrowed or obstructed arteries using balloons/catheters/stents.
  • Vascular surgery. Our vascular interventionalists offer expertise in the combined use of endovascular and open surgical techniques.
  • Vascular bypass. A surgical procedure performed for inadequate blood flow to a region of the body.
  • Endovenous ablation. Radiofrequency or laser treatment of a diseased vein.
  • Varicose vein management. Including modern approaches such as vein ablation and other minimal invasive technologies, as well as sclerotherapy.
  • Wound management. Skin ulcer care (arterial/venous/neuropathic), debridement (chemical, mechanical, surgical), skin grafting, wound compression, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and other wound care strategies.
  • Foot care. Comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and instructional care to address poor circulation or neuropathy.
