Providing Specialized Care to Infants and Children

At Monmouth Medical Center’s Regional Cleft Palate Center, a team of specialists takes a personalized approach to the treatment of cleft lip and palate — common birth defects affecting an estimate of one in 1032 newborns (May 2024 CDC). The Center is one of five regional referral centers in the state established by the New Jersey Department of Health for children born with clefts.

A Team Approach to Care

Outpatient care is provided by a team of specialists in areas such as:

  • Audiology
  • Dentistry
  • Ear, Nose and Throat
  • Genetics
  • Orthodontics
  • Pediatrics
  • Craniofacial Plastic Surgery
  • Social Work
  • Speech Language Pathology
  • Oral Maxillofacial Surgery

To schedule an appointment for a team evaluation at the Center or for more information, call the center at 732-923-7654 or write to the center’s coordinator. Services are available for newborns, but also older children and adults who require further treatment. All patients are treated, regardless of ability to pay.
