Sickle Cell Treatment at Monmouth Medical Center

Monmouth Medical Center offers a comprehensive approach to the management of acute and chronic sickle cell syndromes in both children and adults. Our specialists provide ongoing disease management, acute care, as well as preventive therapies and support.

Children with sickle cell disease are treated at the Valerie Fund Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Unterberg Children's Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center. The Center is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of board-certified pediatric hematologists, hematology nurse-specialists, and a social worker. Adults with sickle cell disease are treated by a dedicated staff of physicians, nurses and support personnel. Our Sickle Cell Program staff work closely with the patient's primary care physician to deliver appropriate and personalized treatment.
