The purpose of this recognition is to acknowledge individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing the patient and team experience. By going above and beyond in these areas, recipients of this recognition contribute meaningfully to a culture of excellence and compassion.
Criteria with an example:
- Promotes high levels of patient satisfaction; or
- Identifies process improvement opportunities; or
- Is recognized in a Patient Experience survey; or
- Delivers exceptional customer service; or
- Supports Team efforts

This recognition is for: Monmouth Medical Center Registered Nurses
This award is an international nursing award offered to a registered nurse who demonstrates the skills, characteristics, and qualities of a professional and caring nurse role model. This prestigious recognition celebrates nurses who go above and beyond in their practice, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve. The Monmouth Medical DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses utilizes a set of criteria developed using Caring Science by Dr. Jean Watson, a celebrated nursing theorist.
Criteria with an example:
- Excellent Clinical Skills and Achievement (Engaging in Transpersonal teaching and learning within context of caring relationships)
- Special human consideration in caring/healing environment (Practice of loving kindness, compassion, and equanimity with self/other; Creating a healing environment)
- Highest level of compassion and caring kindness (Sustaining humanistic-altruistic values; Developing and sustaining loving, trusting-caring relationships)
- Communication/education and attention to patients and families (Allowing for expression of positive and negative feelings; Engaging in transpersonal teaching and learning)
