#1 Kidney Transplant Program in the Northeast
As the region’s most experienced kidney and pancreas transplantation program, RWJBarnabas Health offers compassionate and comprehensive care for adult and pediatric patients. Our Centers offer hope and a wide range of treatment options available at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and satellite locations throughout New Jersey.
Pioneering Kidney Transplant
With a patient-centered approach, we aim to provide a caring environment matched with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment capabilities. Our multidisciplinary transplant team guides patients through the process of deciding on transplant as a treatment option, understanding transplantation, finding a donor, and maintaining a healthy organ after transplant. Along with our established reputation for world-class renal and pancreas transplantation care, our department of transplant research continues to participate in clinical drug trials to investigate the latest anti-rejection medications available.
Living Donor Programs
The Living Donor Institute at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and the Living Donor Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital give ordinary people the opportunity to do the extraordinary: save the life of another person by donating a kidney. By helping kidney transplant patients get off the wait list sooner—and by freeing up deceased donor organs for other people—living donors not only save two lives, they make a positive impact on the lives of countless others in the process.
Pediatric Transplant Program
Our pediatric nephrology services are aimed at serving families who are struggling with kidney and hypertensive disorders. The pediatric nephrology team includes dedicated, accomplished surgeons and specialists.
