RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a clinical leader to join Jersey City Medical Center as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Jersey City, NJ.
The Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology will provide leadership in clinical practice, education and research. With an academic appointment with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, the Chair is also responsible for all teaching activities within the Department, including student, house staff and graduate educational programs. Moreover, the Chair will provide leadership and vision for the future of the department to cultivate an environment of strong collaboration, team-building, and multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.

Preferred Candidates Will Have:
- Board Certification in Ob/Gyn
- NJ license or eligible for licensure
- At least 7 years of clinical and research experience
- Commitment to academic excellence, including interest or prior experience in resident and medical student education and clinical research
- Ability to meet the requirements for an academic appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level
- Keen understanding for developing and leading ACGME accredited residency programs
- Previous experience in clinical leadership as Department Vice Chair, as well as experience in healthcare quality, resource management, outcomes improvement, patient safety, and the patient experience
- 7+ Years in medical leadership positions
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong clinical background, and keen understanding of how to drive and maintain clinical quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
Oversight & Direction: Provide strategic oversight and direction for all research and educational activities within the OBGYN Department, ensuring excellence in medical student, resident, and fellow education.
Program Development: Spearhead the creation of innovative programs aimed at faculty development, focusing on equipping them as master clinicians and education researchers.
Faculty Engagement: Engage proactively with voluntary faculty members to enhance their teaching capabilities, foster collaboration, and elevate the overall educational experience for students and residents.
Collaboration with Residency Program Director: Work hand-in-hand with the Residency Program Director to enhance faculty teaching activities, ensuring the delivery of top-tier education to our trainees.
Continuous Improvement: Implement strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the teaching methodologies for medical students, ensuring that our institution remains at the forefront of medical
