Our Lung Transplant Specialists
Our experienced, multi-disciplinary team includes pulmonologists, transplant surgeons, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and dietitians. Each member of the transplant team is an expert in transplantation and they work together to bring their expertise, knowledge and understanding to each lung transplant patient in our program. Our specialized team is dedicated to caring for the complex needs of lung transplant patients and their loved ones through the transplant process.
Post-COVID-19 Recovery Clinic
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center’s COVID-19 recovery practice is part of its Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program.
With the only Lung Transplant Center in the state of New Jersey, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center offers advanced pulmonary care to those who have specific pulmonary function issues due to COVID-19.
For management of acutely ill patients, our hospital is one of the few centers in New Jersey that offers extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, or ECMO, in the inpatient setting. ECMO is a specialized cardiac and respiratory support system that does the work of the heart and lungs outside of the body so those organs have time to rest and heal.
