Green Apple Rx
Jersey City Medical Center Food Farmacy
The idea is simple: food is medicine.
Jersey City Medical Center created Green Apple Rx, JCMC Food FARMacy to serve community members living in Hudson County who are food insecure and have a chronic disease such as diabetes, obesity or hypertension.
Our goal is to improve health for all Hudson County residents by working to promote healthy environments and conditions across the key social determinants.
Program participants will be eligible to receive free nutritional counseling by a Registered Dietitian and free food through our partnership with ACME Supermarkets, GOYA, the Community Food Bank of NJ and other local community agencies and donors.
The program is free, but registration and participation with our Greenville Primary Care Team is required. For more information or to determine your eligibility, please call 201-395-7676.
Green Apple Rx, JCMC Food FARMacy is located at our Jersey City Medical Center Greenville Ambulatory Care Center.
