About Jersey City Medical Center
Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC), an RWJBarnabas Health facility, is a comprehensive acute and sub-acute care, 352-bed not-for-profit teaching hospital. Located near major highways including the PATH, bus and light rail. JCMC is a state-designated Level II Regional Trauma Center with 16,000 admissions and over 90,000 Emergency Department visits annually. A new state-of-the-art ED, a $100 million investment that opened in September 2022, adds 60,000 square feet and features the Abercrombie Guild Pediatric Emergency Department, Hudson County’s only Pediatric ED. In 2023, RWJBH at Exchange Place opened in Jersey City’s downtown district to offer an array of conveniently located primary and specialty care, and rehabilitation services including physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, and audiology.

JCMC is the only full-service heart hospital in Hudson County, offering access to outstanding cardiologists and sophisticated treatments, such as cardiac surgery and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR). In partnership with Rutgers University, our Vascular Center provides easier access to a full spectrum of advanced vascular care, and has earned recognition from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
The Madeline Fiadini LoRe Foundation Infusion Center and our Radiation Oncology facility delivers multidisciplinary, comprehensive cancer care, at Colony Plaza in Jersey City. In partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute, the state’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated-Comprehensive Care Center, JCMC provides patients with advanced cancer treatment options, including clinical trials, complex surgical procedures and sophisticated radiation therapy techniques.
JCMC offers a full range of women’s health services to women of any age from routine care through diagnostic procedures, whether a first gynecological exam, prenatal care, post-menopausal care, genetic counseling and anything in between. Women’s Health at Grove Street and Cristie Kerr Women’s Health Center offers women convenient access to the highest level of medical care.
For expecting families, JCMC provides comprehensive care before, during and after the birth of a child. The hospital is equipped to manage deliveries from natural to high risk. The 17,500-square-foot Lord Abbett Maternity Wing features private rooms, with modern equipment and amenities that provide a family-centric birthing experience that matches JCMC’s world-class labor and delivery services. As a state-designated Level III Regional Perinatal Center, the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit helps infants with severe prematurity, respiratory distress and feeding issues for the first 28 days of life.
Jersey City Medical Center at Greenville, located at 1825 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City, is our outpatient medical center that offers a unique array of services intended to enhance care for families who need it most. Programs and services include medical and social services for the homeless, a Center for Comprehensive Care that provides medical services and case management for people living with HIV + HEP C, the Green Apple Rx Food FARMacy for individuals with food insecurity and chronic health disorders, and more. This facility also offers primary care, rheumatology and a retail pharmacy.
RWJBarnabas Health at Bayonne, located at 519 Broadway & 24th Street, features a satellite Emergency
Department, and offers primary care, various health care specialists,
a retail pharmacy, and an imaging center and physical therapy.

Led by Michael Prilutsky, President and CEO, we strive to build on our legacy and make our hospital among the very best. The hospital is governed by a Board of Trustees, whose current chair is Carlos Lejnieks, the first Latinx to lead JCMC’s board.

We were recertified by DNV as a Certified Acute Care Hospital and have received various distinctions and awards, including achieving the Magnet Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for four consecutive times for nursing excellence.
