Nancy E. Holecek, MAS, MHA, BSN, RN, FNAP
Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer
Beginning her career at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center as a registered
nurse in critical care, Nancy E. Holecek has held multiple leadership
positions in nursing, leading to her current position as Executive Vice
President and Chief Nursing Officer. In line with her commitment to advancing
the nursing profession, she developed and oversaw implementation of various
nursing collaboratives to promote integration and standardization of evidenced
based best practice, created a formal competency assessment program, and
established benchmarks against which trends in key indicators of patient
care performance could be tracked over time and across settings. She instituted
the first system-wide Professional Nurse Practice Council for RWJBarnabas
Health and the first academic partnership for an internationally recognized
senior practicum program.
Her support for the staff has earned her high credibility among nurses
throughout the system and her innovative models of nursing care serve
as an example for other health care systems. She remains a strong proponent
of nursing education to enhance patient care, patient experience, and
nursing recruitment and retention.
She has been a champion of workplace violence prevention, human trafficking
education and creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
