Pharmacy Residency

The Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY-1 ) Pharmacy Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset (RWJ Somerset) will develop each resident’s independent practice skills and confidence in a variety of general practice and specialty settings.
Overall, the resident will acquire a broad range of clinical, distributive, management, and teaching skills. Upon completion of the residency, practitioners will be equipped with the working skills to assume a leadership role in pharmacy practice.
RWJ Somerset Pharmacy Department’s Goal
The primary goal of the RWJ Somerset Department of Pharmacy is to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients and other health care providers. Our goal will be achieved through the ongoing development of an environment which will:
- Provide pharmaceutical care focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes
- Provide pharmaceutical care which meets or exceeds accepted standards directed towards the treatment and prevention of disease and promoting the efficacious, safe, and cost-effective use of pharmacologic agents and other therapeutic interventions
