About the APP Fellowship
The Fellowship is a paid, 12-month postgraduate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) program. It incorporates a rigorous, structured training schedule and support as our fellows make the transition from student to provider.
The program is open to highly qualified, board certified Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs).
Rotations
Rotations vary from 2 to 4 weeks. Didactics include monthly lectures with sub-specialty experts and weekly critical care conferences throughout the year. Each rotation will have its own objectives, followed by evaluations. Learning resources will be provided.
Goals
Our APP Fellowship strives to:
- Enhance collaboration and navigation of a multi-disciplinary organization
- Equip participants with tools to help meet the needs of complex, acute and critically ill patients
- Encourage open communication
- Foster mentoring and personal growth
- Provide training in many bedside procedures, central lines, critical care ultrasound instruction and many more
APP participants who graduate the program achieve the level of confidence and skills needed to succeed in highly competitive specialties.
"The fellowship helped me reach many personal goals. Besides the medicine,
the experience and camaraderie among APPs was inspiring to see."
James Pimentel, PA-C
"I feel that the APP Critical Care Fellowship at RWJUH provided me
with a strong insight of critically ill patients, not only from the view
of various ICU providers, but from the consultant services as well. "
Jessica Holiday, PA-C
