Conference / Research Requirements
Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
As part of the ACGME program standards, it is required that fellows participate in research. Here at RWJBarnabas Health we have a large panel of transplant, mechanical circulatory support (durable and temporary), cardiomyopathy (genetic, infiltrative) patients which provides a large opportunity for single center studies, retrospective analysis, and case presentations.
We have assigned weekly didactic conferences to discuss journal articles, review articles, guideline updates and NBI specific protocol updates. We have established collaboration with other disciples for scheduled cardiovascular surgical, pathology, and interventional/structural conferences.
Additionally, all fellows will be responsible to present patient cases in the weekly Multidisciplinary Transplant Conference when covering the inpatients service.
