Application Requirements
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION FOR RESIDENCY:
The General Surgery Residency Program at Monmouth Medical Center offers four (4) categorical and five (5) preliminary positions. Our program participates fully with ERAS and the NRMP.
Our application deadline is November 15.
- We do not accept applications outside of ERAS.
- A minimum score of 210 on USMLE Step I and II (first attempt).
- Applicants must have graduated from medical school no earlier than 2010.
- Foreign medical school graduates must have at least one year of US clinical hospital experience and present a valid ECFMG certificate prior to the offer of a contract.
- Applicants must be a US citizen or a permanent resident.
- Applicants from osteopathic medical schools must pass USMLE examinations in addition to the COMLEX.
- We do not offer externships.

- Three (3) letters of recommendation (at least two from surgeons)
