Residency Conferences
Your residency training at Jersey City Medical Center will be filled with daily engaging and interactive conferences.
Noon Conferences
These sessions are held daily from 12:15 pm through 1:15 pm. Noon Conference is attended by all physicians of the Department of Medicine, including all house staff.
The sessions are pre-scheduled and all are PowerPoint presentations. Presentations are led by the assigned teams (intern and resident). These presentations are divided into two parts:
Part I: Case presentation and pathophysiology of disease by the Intern
Part II: Didactics portion, with emphasis on scientific literature and scientific evidence (at least 2 recent clinical trials), led by the resident.
These sessions are led by attendings from Medicine and all of its subspecialties.
Topics at these sessions are varied, and include:
- Review of pathophysiology of common diseases,
- Evidence-based topics regarding common diseases,
- Integrative Nursing-Physician Conferences,
- Post-residency vocational assistance (financial services, contract negotiations, personal experiences in the workforce, etc.),
- Quality improvement programs
Grand Rounds
Held on the second Thursday of each month during the academic year. These conferences are conducted by esteemed colleagues from various outside institutions.
Topics are generally “new” or “cutting edge” in basic and clinical research.
Cardiology Grand Rounds
As a monthly conference on the third Thursday of each month with keynote speakers from various institutions across our health system.
