General Surgery Residency

at Community Medical Center

A Message from the Program Director

Welcome to the General Surgery Residency Program at Community Medical Center, part of the Rutgers/Robert Wood Johnson/Barnabas Health family! We are pleased that you have chosen our program and are committed to providing outstanding clinical training, a comprehensive educational program and excellent research opportunities.

At Community Medical Center, our goal is to train well-rounded, compassionate and competent general surgeons who have a strong foundation in the conduct and interpretation of surgical research, basic and clinical surgical sciences, and surgical education. Our graduates will have a broad skill set and will be dedicated to caring for patients with a range of surgical pathologies, and will be prepared for a variety of career paths.

The core of our program is comprised of our trainees and we are committed to a diverse workplace and learning environment where our residents feel included and supported. We have a diverse faculty, many of whom are subspecialized and fellowship trained, dedicated to educating our residents.

We appreciate your interest and invite you to take a deeper look at our program. We look forward to meeting you. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions you may have.
