Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the conference, the attendee will gain knowledge and understanding regarding:

  • guideline-directed medical therapy for heart failure management and guideline-directed medical therapy
  • treatment for community acquired pneumonia (CAP), hospital acquired pneumonia (HAP), and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) plus learn how to utilize the antibiogram
  • common conditions and treatments in psychiatric/mental health
  • common anticoagulants and role of reversal agents in line with CBMC policies
  • inpatient management of diabetes and transitions of care pearls
  • common terminology when caring for transgender patients, impact of hormone therapy on treatment, and current medication reconciliation and practices at CBMC
  • complementary and alternative approaches to pain management including traditional approaches, opioids, plus complementary and alternative methods including cannabis
  • caring for the renal transplant patient and renal transplant medications.
