Navigating the Journey: Chat with the Child Study Team
What do you want to ask the Child Study Team (CST)? This Q&A session focuses on the role of the CST in the education process and a child’s eligibility for a variety of services.
Here are some topics to be addressed by the panel:
- What is considered a special education service?
- How do you determine eligibility for special services?
- Is a medical diagnosis needed to obtain a comprehensive Child Study Team evaluation?
- What types of medical diagnosis do you consider during the assessment process?
- What is a related service?
- What is the difference between an IEP and a 504.

Note: Responding to your questions will be a panel of CST members from Paterson School District in NJ. Parents and caregivers residing out of Paterson are welcome to attend.
