Sydney Asselstine, MD

Sydney Asselstine, MD, CAQSM, is a Primary Care Sports Medicine and Family Medicine physician who joined RWJBarnabas Health in 2023. She practices primary care and sports medicine at Greenville Primary Care in Jersey City, where she is involved in the education of residents and advanced practice students. She serves as a Team Physician for New Jersey City University, Seton Hall University, and Gotham FC, and assists Jason Krystofiak, MD, CAQSM, with Rutgers Football. She also provides care for local New Jersey high schools. Dr. Asselstine is active in clinical research and has worked on publications pertaining to concussion, soft tissue injuries in sport, and female athletes. Her clinical interests include care for the female athlete and orthobiologics/regenerative medicine. Dr. Asselstine completed her residency in Family Medicine at Rutgers-RWJMS at CentraState, where she served as chief resident and was honored by the American Academy of Family Physicians with the Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education. She completed her fellowship in Sports Medicine at Rutgers-RWJMS. Outside of medicine, she enjoys being on the golf course or the hockey rink, hiking, and playing with her two puppies.
