• Dr. Suzanne Magherini, a board certified obstetrician gynecologist, completed her medical degree and residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center. She started her career working in private practices which were associated with large academic centers. In 2007 she transitioned into a teaching role for the Ob/Gyn residents at Monmouth Medical’s outpatient Women’s Family Health Center. She supervises residents, midwives and medical students in the Women’s outpatient clinic and also on the floors of labor and delivery . As a faculty member, she has given lectures to residents and the local community at large. Recently she completed her training course as an ALSO instructor for obstetrics. As a clinician she also spends a considerable amount of her time seeing her own patients in the outpatient clinic. She does not miss the “boutique practices” of Manhattan and enjoys the challenges of serving an underserved community. Interestingly, in Long Branch, Dr. Magherini has been able to use her linguistic skills with the Hungarian, Chinese and Haitian population. Working in a FQHC clinic has also provided Dr. Magherini with an in depth perspective on the complexities of public health.
