Stephen E. Crane, MD, FACOG, board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, joined the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center staff in 1990. In addition to Obstetrics, Dr. Crane specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery to treat fibroid tumors, perform hysterectomies, and treat ovarian tumors. He also specializes in operative hysteroscopy to treat abnormal bleeding and fertility problems.
Dr. Crane served as President of the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Medical Staff. An active leader in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), he served as a Clinical Chief, on the OB/GYN Department Executive Committee, and on the OB/GYN Quality Assurance Committee. He served as chairman of the hospital’s Perinatal Review Committee from 1994-2015. Dr. Crane is also been a member of the Medical Executive Committee. He is regularly named a "Top Doctor" by New Jersey Monthly.
Dr. Crane received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center where he received the Chief Residents’ Award. In 2003, he was named the Ob/Gyn Clinical Instructor of the Year. Dr. Crane maintains a private practice in West Orange, and Verona, N.J.
