Raquel T. Wagman, MD

Raquel T. Wagman, MD, board-certified, radiation oncologist, joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in July 2004. Dr. Wagman also has a dual appointment at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Medical School and is the Residency Program Director at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. She takes a special interest in the treatment and research of gynecological cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, and breast cancer.
Dr. Wagman came to Cooperman Barnabas from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where she completed her residency in radiation oncology and then was an attending in the Department of Radiation Oncology for four years. Prior to that, she completed her internship and received both her medical and undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Wagman is the author of more than 40 publications, abstracts, conference proceedings, book chapters, and review articles. Over the past several years, she has made four oral presentations and one poster presentation at the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting. Dr. Wagman has received numerous awards, including the Radiological Society of North America’s Resident/Fellow Research Award, the University of Michigan’s Frank E. Robbins Award for Scholarship and Professional Development, and has been nominated for her 6th term as Cancer Liaison Physician to the Commission on Cancer for Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Wagman is a member of the IRB committee and the Gyn Oral Board Committee of the American Board of Radiology, and serves as an oral examiner for the Radiation Oncology Oral Board Exam.
Dr. Wagman is consistently listed as a Castle Connolly NY Metro area’s Top Doctor and a Top Doc for Women’s Health in Inside Jersey magazine. She was also awarded the Outstanding Cancer Liaison Physician Award by the Commission on Cancer in 2021.
