Dr. Neel H. Patel completed a fellowship in Advanced Robotics, Laparoscopy and Urologic Oncology at the University of Southern California. During his fellowship, he trained with some of the most experienced robotic surgeons in the world. Dr. Patel completed his urology residency at New York Medical College gaining experience in complex stone disease and sexual medicine. During this time, he also performed research to help improve patient outcomes and safety in urologic oncology, stone disease, BPH, and erectile dysfunction. He received his medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine, where he graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
He is a board certified and fellowship trained urologist with expertise in minimally invasive surgery for the management of urologic cancers, as well as benign urologic conditions. He provides care in all aspects of general urology to men and women such as: kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, and erectile dysfunction. He also specializes in the management of urologic cancers, which include cancers of the kidney, prostate, bladder, ureter, penis, testis and adrenal gland.
Dr. Patel enjoys teaching medical students and residents in the clinic as well as the operating room. He serves as a peer reviewer for several journals, such as the Gold Journal of Urology and the Journal of Endourology. He has published numerous research articles in peer- reviewed journals, presented his research at national and international meetings, and written book chapters. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society, the Society of Robotic Urologic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.
In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies include traveling, cooking, weightlifting, running, and swimming.
Philosophy of Care:
Dr. Patel enjoys providing care to his patients using a well-rounded and systematic approach to fit the specific needs of each individual patient. He feels that every patient should be treated with compassion and dignity, as a majority of urologic conditions are sensitive in nature.
