Meera Yogarajah, MD
- Hematology | Medical Oncology
I am very delighted to join RWJ Barnabas Health Medical Group and become affiliated with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive
Cancer Center as well as with Robert Wood Johnson University Hamilton, enabling patients to have comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer care closer to home with opportunity to enroll in cutting edge
clinical trials.
I completed my hematology and oncology fellowship at East Carolina University Health System and pursued additional advanced fellowship in malignant hematology at Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota.
During my training, I have been an accomplished researcher and was awarded a research grant for lung cancer biomarker studies and was the lead investigator in circulating tumor DNA studies in lung cancer. I have also presented at multiple national conferences including American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. I have published in several peer reviewed journals with renowned authors in the field of hematological malignancies. My special interests are managing lung, breast, GI and hematological malignancies.
Philosophy of Care:
The diagnosis of cancer can be very hard on both patients and families. As their physician, I provide each patient with a personalized treatment option based on current evidence. I empower my patients to be an active decision maker in their treatment plan and am committed to being there to guide and support.
