- Medical Oncology
I am a medical oncologist who cares for people with lymphoma, including Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Lymphomas are a group of diseases with tremendous variety. At the same time, the people who are diagnosed with lymphoma have very different lives, needs, and concerns. I work closely with each of my patients and their families to create a personalized care plan. That may include routine
treatments, novel therapies, clinical trials, cellular therapy, or stem cell transplantation.
My research is focused on finding new and better ways to treat lymphoma, particularly high-risk aggressive lymphomas, and certain uncommon types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I am working to improve our understanding of how current treatments affect people in the long term so that we can develop better strategies to protect and preserve the health of our survivors after their treatment is over. Through my work and that of the entire RWJBarnabas team, we are continuing to make great strides in how we care for people with these diseases.
As a husband and father of three school-age children, I understand that people’s lives can be complicated, and I always work to understand who my patients are — and that they are far more than a diagnosis.
Philosophy of Care:
My patients’ treatment depends on their diagnosis and what will most effectively treat their disease but also what fits into their lives and their goals. It’s my job to ensure that my patients receive the best treatments delivered in the best ways, but I am also here to be a partner and advocate, and to guide them through what can be a very difficult time.
