    Linda Sanders, MD, has served as Medical Director of The Breast Center at the RWJBarnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center since 2003. She has served as the Chief of Breast Intervention since its inception in 1994, pioneering the development of non-surgical diagnosis of breast pathology, and developed the Breast MRI section, serving as its Chief since 2000.

    Dr. Sanders received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, NY. She graduated with her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine. She completed her internship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

    Dr. Sanders obtained her residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, NY in Diagnostic Radiology. Her fellowship was completed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Special Procedures/Mammography. Dr. Sanders is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Radiology.

    Dr. Sanders is an attending radiologist at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ since 1991. She has been named to the “Top Doctors of New Jersey” for several years by NJ Monthly from 2005 to the present. She is a member of the Radiology Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Society of Breast Imaging. She acts as Director of the fellowship program in Women’s Imaging and Intervention.

    In 2019, she won national acclaim with her work on the management of pediatric breast disease, and was awarded the Walter E Berdon award by the Society of Pediatric Radiology for the best clinical research paper in its journal, Pediatric Radiology. She currently acts as a manuscript reviewer for the American Journal of Roentgenology’s Breast section. She has an extensive list of articles and presentations.
